A. TweenParent.com is a unique website dedicated to sharing information as a way to help parents tackle the challenging issues (and enjoy the moments) associated with a child's pre-teen years, ages 9-13. The age-specific data offered on TweenParent is provided by linking to articles on other sites (which we continually research and review) as well as original content written by our contributors. Q. What's the difference between the TweenParent E-Newsletter and TweenParent Community?

A. Both the e-newsletter and the Community forum were designed to help you get the most out of your experience with TweenParent.com. The complimentary e-newsletter is distributed weekly to subscribers. The content is written with the intent of a quick read with just a couple of pieces of pertinent information. The Community forum was designed to provide the means for the sharing of thoughts and ideas between our readers. Both sections are useful; it just depends on what works best for you. If you aren't enrolled in either, go to Home page to register and/or subscribe. If you're already registered for the Community forum or subscribed to the e-newsletter and you'd like to adjust your selections, go to My Account once you're registered and logged in.

Q. Since enrollment and subscription are free, how does TweenParent make money?

A. Our business model for TweenParent is a win-win-win for everyone involved. We are able to offer high-quality content to our readers, provide an attractive readership for our advertisers and provide advertising and sponsorship space on our site to offset our expenses.

Q. I have a good idea to share with TweenParent and its readers. Who can I tell?

A. There are a couple of ways for you to share information with us or other readers. First, you can email us at if you have a suggestion for us. In addition, you can register for the Community forum, then enter your thoughts on one of the forums (either respond to a question posted by another reader or post your own).

Q. How can I search for an article or information I saw on your site?

A. There is a search function on the Home page that will scan all the articles in our archives. Simply input a word (or words) that will help describe what you're looking for, then press the Search button. If you're interested in investigating a topic on our Community forum to see what other parents have focused on, you can search that section by inputing a word (or words), then press the Search button on that page. At that point, our search engine will scan all entries on our Community forum.

Q. How do I enroll in the TweenParent Community?

A. There is a Register button on the Home page. The process is very simple...just a few pieces of key information. Then, you'll be set to participate! By registering, you'll also receive our complimentary weekly e-newsletter.

Q. How do I change my email address, my screen name or my password?

A. Go to the My Account page and change your selections.

Q. I forgot my password. How can I find out what it is?

A. Go to the Home Page and click Log In on top right. You'll see red type that reads, "Forgot your password?" Follow the prompts.

Q. Why do you say that postings could be removed from the Community forum?

A. We're dedicated to creating a "safe" environment for our readers and promoting mutual respect. While we expect that 99.9% of the time our readers will conduct themselves in a respectful manner, we want to avoid any possibility of an inappropriate posting. Q. When did I sign up for the e-newsletter?

A. The complimentary e-newsletter is included when you register to join the Community. If you'd prefer to not receive the e-newsletter, simply click Unsubscribe once you're logged in, and you'll be removed from the list. A. You can choose one of the following options.
1. If you want to get the TweenParent e-newsletter click Subscribe and you will be taken to the Register Page where you can also choose to join our community.
2. If you are already a member of our community and do not currently subscribe to the TweenParent e-newsletter, but have changed your mind and would like to receive the weekly newsletter log in and then click the My Account link in the upper right section of the site. Once on that page, you can update your information.
3. If you would like to unsubscribe, you can click the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of the TweenParent e-newsletter. If you are a community member, you can also log in and then click the My Account link in the upper right section of the site. Once on that page, you can update your information.

Q. How often does TweenParent publish e-newsletters?

A. Unless there's some timely information that we feel it's important to share, we'll be sending the e-newsletter weekly to subscribers.

A. You don't need to...simply stop logging in. If you do choose to stop participating and it's because of something you don't like about the site, we'd really appreciate if you'd let us know by sharing your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve.

A. We tried to be fully comprehensive when considering what to offer on the TweenParent website. In speaking with parents of tweens, we found that, among other things, it can be very challenging coming up with exciting, of-the-moment gift and product ideas. So, we decided to stay on top of the latest and greatest and feature them on our website. In addition, we wanted to provide a convenient way to order books that we recommend. So, we've partnered with Amazon.com to make the ordering process easy. Whenever possible, we've tried to arrange for special deals for our readership.

Q. Why do I need to choose a screen name and a password when I've already provided my email address?

A. We spent a good deal of time trying to offer the simplest registration and log in process we could. However, we want to protect your privacy. If you didn't have a "screen name", other users would see your email address, which would have violated our privacy protection objective. And, the password ensures that only you can determine your user preferences and post on forums using your account.
