You may have thought that the language you speak at home would be all you'd need to communicate with your child. If only that were true...there's a whole other language that isn't entirely intuitive. To make it easier for you, below is a tool to help clarify the confusion. (Warning: to be a useful tool, we believe it needs to be authentic...which means that some terms may be offensive. As such, please be careful not to share this section with your child.)

hater: Someone who is jealous of another person's success. Rather than be happy for them, they point out a flaw in that person.
heh: a sarcastic laugh, or scoff.
herb: 1. Someone who tries too hard to be cool. 2. A geek or a dork. 3. Marijuana
hit it: Have sex.
hit me on the hip: Calling someone's cell phone or pager.
holla: To talk.
hooked up: Varies in meaning from dating to making out to having sex.
hooptie: An old, worn out, dilapidated car.
hootchie: Trashy, foul talking, provocative dressing, loud, appearing confident but ignorant. Usually refers to women.
housed: Completely destroyed.
hulk out: To become enraged, loose one's temper and possibly violent. Refers to the cartoon character the Incredible Hulk.
